Grantee Communications

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has created guidelines and distinct logos to help our grantees communicate about their awards and distinguish between our core program grants in Arts, Education and Health, and our discretionary awards.

If you are unsure about the type of grant you received, please refer to your grant agreement letter or contact Apryl Rhinehart, Grants Manager, for assistance. Learn more about our discretionary grantmaking in this blog post.

Core Program Grants

With limited exceptions, our Core Program Grants are competitive and generally involve submission of a Letter of Inquiry, followed by an invitation to selected organizations for a full proposal. The awards calendar for each program lists submission deadlines. The proposals go through a rigorous review process and are approved by our Board of Directors. Discretionary Awards

Our discretionary awards allow designated individuals within the Foundation to direct a grant from the Foundation to a chosen nonprofit organization. View the communications guidelines and download logos for our discretionary awards.
