Crowded Fire Theater received a three-year grant of $75,000 to support The Matchbox @ Crowded Fire, a new play development program which actively supports the creation of high quality contemporary theater through commissions, in-house workshops, an annual free public reading series, a Resilience & Development (R&D) LAB, and a Playwright Residency.
- Cutting Ball Theater received a three-year grant of $75,000 to support its Cutting Ball Variety Pack, an experimental works festival that will allow artists to collaborate, experiment and grow the avant-garde canon.
- La ALTERNATIVA received a three year grant of $75,000 to support FRESH Festival, an annual festival of experimental dance, performance, and music in San Francisco, which provides a platform for new work and perspectives in dance, art and culture serving artists and audiences through programming in performance, practice and community exchange.
- Epiphany Productions received a three year grant of $75,000 to support San Francisco Trolley Dances, an annual civic event featuring new site-specific works by professional and community-based dance companies. In partnership with San Francisco’s transit agency, the three-day festival supports the creative growth of choreographers and dance artists and develops new audiences as viewers travel on MUNI streetcars to see dance embedded within hidden corners of the city.
