Faith leaders, are you passionate about young children succeeding in Oakland? So are we!
The Kenneth Rainin Foundation, in collaboration with Literacy Lab, would like to partner with places of worship, any denomination serving in Oakland, to engage their communities in building literacy skills for young children.
This opportunity includes Literacy Lab services to help places of worship:
- Host early childhood literacy events to bolster the knowledge and experience of parents and caregivers as their child’s first teacher.
- Provide free books for preschool children and their families to read together.
- Offer ongoing access to information to help children from birth to five years gain the language and literacy skills they need to be ready for kindergarten and to succeed in life.
Attend an Information Session
Although anyone is welcome, we recommend that someone from your pastoral leadership and/or children’s ministry attend one of these sessions. Food will be provided. Space is limited; please RSVP.
