THEATRE Q
theatre Q exists to portray the evolving images of gays and lesbians on stage.
Dale Albright (Managing Artistic Director) is proud to have helped bring theatre Q to the Bay Area in 2004. He most recently directed Dragon Productions‘ critically acclaimed productions of Burn This, Side Man and As Bees in Honey Drown as well as theatre Q’s productions of Torch Song Trilogy, The Sum of Us (both in Walnut Creek) and the world-premiere musical review My Strange Nation. Dale is also an actor and playwright (his comedy Keep the Yuletide Gay played in Palo Alto in 2007 and 2008). As an actor, he most recently appeared as John in theatre Q’s production of Lips Together, Teeth Apart and as Tennessee Williams in New Conservatory Theatre Center‘s Tennessee in the Summer (Bay Area Critics Circle nomination, as well as various other roles with theatre Q, Dragon Productions, Town Hall Theatre, Thrillpeddlers and Three Wise Monkeys.
GRANTS AWARDED
In 2009, the Foundation supported the production of Terrence McNally’s Lips Together, Teeth Apart about two straight couples confronted with their own homophobia and personal regrets.
