Yerba Buena Arts & Events is a presenting organization dedicated to enhancing the vitality and quality of life in the parks and open spaces of Yerba Buena Gardens and the San Francisco Bay Area through the curated presentation of free artistic, community, educational and cultural programs.
About Us
Yerba Buena Gardens Festival presents classical, world, and jazz music; contemporary and traditional dance; theater, children’s and family programs; and community cultural events that reflect the many diverse cultures and creativity of the region. Artistic excellence, inclusion, diversity and innovation are at the heart of our mission. As the only curated arts park in San Francisco that is fully dedicated to the long-term presentation of free arts and cultural programs, Yerba Buena Gardens occupies a unique place in the cultural landscape of San Francisco. In a typical six-month season of the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, more than 1,400 world-class artists are presented in the Gardens, and more than 90% of those artists are local.
GRANTS AWARDED
In 2010, the Foundation supported Dancing in the Gardens, a dynamic series of 9 culturally diverse dance programs, including one commission, presented outdoors as part of the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival.
