The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has awarded $250,000 in arts grants to 16 small and mid-size Bay Area organizations through its New and Experimental Works (NEW) Program. Funding will support experimental dance, theater and multidisciplinary works.
This round of grants approved in November includes awards ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. Three organizations will receive support from the Rainin Foundation for the first time.
The investments will support numerous performances, including a 45th anniversary production by Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, as well as an array projects exploring current political topics from CounterPulse, The Marsh and San Francisco Playhouse.
