Program Officers

Pat Curcio, Vice President & Program Officer, Health

Pat Curcio was Kenneth Rainin’s assistant for a number of years up until he passed away in 2007. During that time, the skills and knowledge she gained from working for Mr. Rainin laid the initial ground work for stepping into her Foundation role as Vice President and Program Officer, Health. In addition, because Mr. Rainin himself suffered greatly from Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Pat was able to see firsthand the devastating effects of this terrible disease and is dedicated and committed to helping the Foundation in its efforts to find a cure for IBD.

Previously, Ms. Curcio played a key foundation staff role when working with a well-known San Francisco Bay Area family for eight years. By working closely with respective Board Members, she was able to help them navigate their three Bay Area foundations by organizing Board meetings, performing site visits, conducting extensive research, writing summary reports and making recommendations.

On the non-profit side, Pat’s background includes being an advocate for special needs children and adults. Her fundraising experience has benefitted several local East Bay non-profit organizations that support the special needs community (AlaCosta Center, Berkeley Way and Camping Unlimited). Through her dedication and commitment to helping others, Pat has been able to bring community awareness to these local non-profit organizations for special needs children and adults. Through her extensive volunteer efforts, people/organizational skills, each non-profit has become more visible within the community, and thus paved the way for community outreach and support. In addition, by introducing and procuring self-sustaining fundraising efforts to these organizations, they have been able to thrive and grow.
