Communications Guidelines for Core Program Grants

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation encourages organizations to announce grants from us in written materials, online publications and social media. We have developed guidelines to support you in communicating about your grant. Download our brand guidelines and logos.

Acknowledging the Foundation

While your organization should be the focus of your communications, there may be instances where you would like to add a description of your funders. The following language should be used when the Kenneth Rainin Foundation is included:

  • Materials should list the Foundation’s full legal name: Kenneth Rainin Foundation.
  • To describe the Foundation further, please use the following paragraph:
    “Kenneth Rainin Foundation is a private family foundation dedicated to enhancing quality of life by championing and sustaining the arts, promoting early childhood literacy and supporting research to cure chronic disease. Collaboration and innovation are at the heart of all its programs. Its vision is guided by the belief that change is possible through inquiry, creativity and compassion.”

Press Releases

If you plan to issue a press release that will mention the Kenneth Rainin Foundation, please email our Communications team. We will ensure that the information about the Foundation is accurate and can assist with any quotes you may want from us.

Media Inquiries and Requests

If you are concerned or want advice about media coverage your project has received or might receive, or believe a reporter’s question may be better answered by the Foundation, please email our Communications team and copy your program officer in the message.

Social Media and Communications About Grantees

The Foundation is active on social media. We use these tools to promote our grantees’ work and share information. We invite you to follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Vimeo to get our updates and announcements. Help us promote your events and news by sharing your social media links with us.

The Foundation sends e-newsletters and updates that include our grantees and we promote some grantees on our website,  social media, and in other communications. Help us showcase your milestones by tagging the Foundation on social media or emailing information to us. We invite you to share photos with us that we can use to spotlight your grant-funded project in our communications and social media. You can email your high resolution (at least 300 dpi) digital photos to our Communications team and include any pertinent information along with the photo credit.

Kenneth Rainin Foundation grantees are encouraged to acknowledge our support and use our logo in materials related to the grant-funded project. Download usage guidelines and logo files.
