
Patrick Taylor is the Grants Manager for the Kenneth Rainin Foundation. He leads the Grants Management and Learning Team and provides strategic direction to the grantmaking process, knowledge management, data analysis and training for Foundation staff.
Prior to working at the Rainin Foundation, Patrick was Director of Grants Management at Sobrato Philanthropies in Mountain View. In this role, he led a data integration project and updated and improved the organization’s grantmaking practices and policies. Prior to that he served in grants management roles at the Zellerbach Family Foundation and Energy Foundation.
Patrick has both a BA and MA in History from San Francisco State University, where he focused on Italian history and Holocaust studies. He also has a Master of Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco. During his studies he spent a year in Florence, Italy and a year in Pavia, Italy studying Italian history, language and art. Patrick is a former board member of PEAK Grantmaking and a current chapter volunteer. He served on the City of El Cerrito’s Arts & Culture Commission in 2023.
