A new outdoor vertical dance production investigating Indigenous forest practices, featuring the songs, voices and stories of Ohlone elders, as well as Augmented Reality digital art created by American Indigenous youth. Talking Roots: Trees of Witness will engage an extensive network of Indigenous artists, scientists, elders, schools, urban youth and audiences from throughout the South and East Bay.

A full-length dance and music program featuring the innovative hula choreography by director Patrick Makuak_ne and showcasing several of Hawaii_s most culturally renowned m_h_ (transgender) artists and performers. The project celebrates the renewed appreciation and acceptance of m_h_ artists as a vibrant cultural force whose impact and influence have been obscured and disparaged due to colonialism and imported religiosity.

A four-hour interdisciplinary performance trip through grief and joy that invites us to consider our role in the climate crisis by ODC Theater Resident Artist Larry Arrington. Created in collaboration with over 20 women and queer interdisciplinary performers, Eleusis draws from the Hellenistic rituals of the Eleusinian mysteries to explore the necessity of interdependence within the Anthropocene.

A dance performance which digs into our complex relationships with our digital shadows—the indelible traces of ourselves we leave behind with every online purchase, app use, web search, and photo upload. As these shadows grow with our increasing dependence on technology, so do questions of intimacy and identity, privacy and control.

This new work draws upon Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Comanche traditions, storytelling, and traditional Japanese Noh to underscore similarities in spirituality, folklore, generational trauma, and historical experiences of Indigenous American and immigrant cultures.

Ghostly Labor_ tells the story of grassroots activism and perseverance of Chicana and Native workers, bringing to light the resilience, beauty, and humanity of some of the most vulnerable and unseen people in our society.

A new choreographic work bridging and interweaving dance and percussion of West Africa and the African American marching bands of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The work takes the form of a call-and-response battle featuring intricately composed sections of highly stylized movement and percussion merging into community rising together in unison.

A site-specific aerial performance that examines the reconciliation between acts of violence towards Places of Worship and themes of love, sacred space, and community. Love, a state of grace is designed to promote dialogue, healing, and understanding among diverse multicultural and multigenerational communities.
