Initiatives & Research
The Kenneth Rainin Foundation is investing in research and supporting initiatives to get children ready for kindergarten and reading successfully by the end of third grade. We work closely with the Oakland Unified School District and our partners and community stakeholders to test innovative ideas on the ground and share lessons so that others in the field can benefit.
The Rainin Foundation is leading the funding and implementation of SEEDS of Learning, a relationship based professional development program that provides Oakland teachers with strategies for building social, emotional, language and literacy skills in young children. Learn more.
We are investing in research to better understand what is needed to get the best outcomes for Oakland children. We are sharing our research findings to inspire dialogue and benefit our partners and others involved in this work. Learn more.
