Girls Inc. of the Island City empowers ethnically and economically diverse girls aged 6-18 through research-based programming, offering a safe space for mentoring relationships and skill development, including STEM, literacy, health and leadership. They serve over 600 girls annually, with sliding fee scales and collaborations, and also run Alameda Island Kids, a licensed childcare service at five elementary schools.
The Kenneth Rainin Foundation enhances quality of life by championing the arts, promoting early childhood literacy, and supporting research to cure chronic disease.
