The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has announced the promotion of Megan De Trane to Digital Communications Specialist effective May 1.
Megan joined the Foundation in 2018 and has played an integral role in advancing equity through our communications. Most recently she has led our Diversity & Inclusion Strategies in Communications (DISC) Group and the development of our new website, which will launch in May.
Megan brings a passion for ensuring that communications are accessible, especially for people who are blind, have low vision, are hard of hearing or have motor impairments that affect their ability to use a mouse. She has focused a significant part of her professional development efforts on accessibility. Over the past year, this has included working closely with Perkins Access, the consulting arm of the world-renowned Perkins School for the Blind, to ensure accessibility of our new website. She has also been developing her leadership skills as a member of the 2023 Rising Leaders Cohort through Northern California Grantmakers.
“Coming up on my five-year anniversary with the Foundation, it has been an honor to grow into this position. It’s so meaningful to work somewhere values driven where I can bring my passions to my projects.”

In making this announcement, Mandy Flores-Witte, Director of Communications, said, “I feel fortunate to have Megan on the Communications Team. She is a skilled and passionate communicator who embodies the Rainin Foundation’s values.”
Please join us in congratulating Megan on this well-deserved promotion.
