The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has achieved the Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition, from Candid’s GuideStar. GuideStar is the world’s largest database of nonprofit organizations and funders. Their system includes four levels of transparency. As they scale up, the seals require increasing amounts of information sharing. The Platinum Seal demonstrates our commitment to accountability toward achieving our mission to enhance quality of life by championing the arts, promoting early childhood literacy and supporting research to cure chronic disease.
Transparency Is An Ongoing Priority
Openness and integrity are key ingredients for meaningful, trusting relationships. We focus on transparency in our communications, decision-making and policies to:
- Show accountability. We want our grantees, partners and the communities we serve to understand how our actions align with our values and mission.
- Enhance trust. We are committed to sharing timely information about how we work, our staff and Board demographics, finances and grantmaking to help strengthen relationships. Being transparent builds trust with those that are invested in our progress.
- Promote learning and growth. Evaluating and reporting on our progress helps the field learn from each other and supports ongoing improvement.
Partnerships and collaborations are at the heart of what we do. The Platinum Seal honors our teamwork and the impact we are working toward. We’re proud to earn this distinction. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
