Our research interests are in elucidating the role of microbiome-derived small molecules in the elicitation and response to Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). These molecules have the capacity to mediate interactions within the microbiome (microbe-microbe interactions) and between the microbiome and the human immune system (microbe-host interactions) in a disease-relevant manner.
