The Kenneth Rainin Foundation awarded over $779,000 in Education grants to improve outcomes for Oakland’s children and families. All awards aligned with the Education Program’s strategic goals to identify and mitigate system gaps, foster alignment and collaboration in the field, and amplify equitable literacy solutions for students.
Specifically, this round of grants supports:
- Crucial coalitions, leaders and influencers that are working to improve narratives, systems and policies in the field
- The capacity for learning and collaboration amongst interdependent organizations—literacy teams across charter and district school systems, licensed educational agencies and community nonprofits
- Evidence-based literacy interventions for children and burnout intervention for educators
The Rainin Foundation remains focused on ensuring that every child enters kindergarten ready to learn and reads at or above grade level by third grade. See the complete list of 2022 Education grants.
