To support a Program Manager position to develop and implement a series of continuous learning programs for the Oakland Literacy Coalition’s membership Literacy Service Providers. Funds will also support securing an outreach coordinator for the Oakland Reads Mini-Grants programs and establishing additional partnerships with community and faith based organizations.

Funding over two years to support the multi-year Men of Color Early Education Teaching Fellows Pilot Project. Year one will focus on building infrastructure to recruit and support a sustainable pipeline of men of color in classrooms. Thirty participants will be onboarded over the course of two years.
Pediatricians are trained to speak with families during well-child visits about the importance of reading aloud and interacting with their children. Families also receive a free book at each visit.
