“The Mvila Project: Initiation” is the first installment in a dance-centered series exploring Kongo cultural identity across the global diaspora. Developed in Oakland/East Palo Alto, with research in New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta, the project unfolds through community inquiry and embodied practice, culminating in a performance premiering in spring 2028.
