The Kenneth Rainin Foundation invites applications for our New & Experimental Works (NEW) Program from March 3-24, 2025, using the Common Application for the Arts. Grants of $5,000-$30,000 provide unrestricted and artist fee support to small and mid-size arts organizations. These awards enable Bay Area artists to produce visionary works relevant to the communities they serve, which advance their artistic practice and push the boundaries of dance and theater. See previous NEW Program grantees.

A panel of Bay Area artists and arts leaders experienced in dance, theater and multidisciplinary arts will review applications and make funding recommendations. Applicants can review the Program’s evaluation process on our website, which outlines what our panelists are looking for when they are assessing each application.

Pre-Application Workshop

We welcome potential applicants to learn more about the NEW Program by attending a webinar hosted by Arts Program Staff on Tuesday, February 25, from 12-1 PM PST. Reserve your spot.

The webinar will be recorded and posted to our website for those who are unable to attend live.
