The goal is to reduce the number of second and third graders who are reading below grade level, by providing targeted and data driven support in the earlier years. Support includes leader and teacher professional development, SEEDS of Learning for new teachers only, SIPPS intervention materials for first through second grade. Funding also includes support for Oakland Unified School District schools to receive SEEDS of Learning professional development for their transitional kindergarten teachers.
